Accessibility
Accessibility statement.
This site is built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Here is what that means in practice, and where the gaps still are.
Our approach
This site is built to be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader, at large text sizes, and without motion. That is a build requirement here, not an afterthought.
The target is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Automated checks run against every page on desktop and mobile as part of the test suite, and keyboard behaviour for the navigation and forms is covered by acceptance tests.
What is in place
Keyboard
Every interactive control is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The mobile menu moves focus into itself, traps Tab while open, closes on Escape, and returns focus to the button that opened it.
Structure
Pages use real headings and landmarks in order, with a skip link to the main content. Form fields have real labels, and errors are announced and linked to the field they belong to.
Contrast and text
Text meets AA contrast against its background, and the layout works from 320px upward without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
Motion
There is no auto-playing video and no motion required to understand the page. When your system requests reduced motion, animation and smooth scrolling are turned off.
Known limitations
- MLS property search, listing pages and the forms inside them are provided by a third-party IDX vendor, iHomefinder. Their accessibility is not fully under this site’s control; report any problem with them and we will raise it with the vendor.
- Photography and written content are still being finalised, so image alternative text is not complete.
